I mentioned when I kicked off this year that I’d be looking for new organizations in some states. Immigration, to me, is the most pressing issue currently, as there is an immediate crisis to provide legal aid and services to refugees and immigrants. These are the folks literally being locked up on a daily basis. That’s terrifying to me.
A glimmer of hope was coming across the brand new Immigrant Justice Idaho which just formed in October 2018! Per their website “IJI provides free and low-cost immigration legal services, and education about immigration law and policy.” It appears that before this group formed, Idahoans had to rely on private attorneys to help with immigration issues. What wonderful news that they now have this legal aid resource. I’m happy to make a donation and look forward to learning and sharing more about this new group.
