I cheered when I saw that Florida passed Amendment 4, restoring the right to vote to over a million felons who have served their terms. This discriminatory practice is what lead me to the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting, in particular their story on Rodrick Kemp, and it was so exciting to see something so many folks worked so hard for come to fruition.
This year FCIR focused on climate change, including this recent report on how increasingly hotter weather can affect folks with chronic health issues. Hopefully their work in this arena helps shine another important light for the voters of that state.
