As I mentioned yesterday, I’ve identified some new organizations this year that I’d like to throw my support behind. The Alaska Federation of Natives came onto my radar this year through its opposition to the Kavanaugh nomination. Even though the heartbreaking confirmation did occur, I am grateful for the pressure on Sen. Murkowski to vote “no”.
I’m glad I did learn about this organization because in a year that saw further federal disenfranchisement of Native peoples, coalitions like these are more important than ever.
